The beginning of the Colombian footballer’s career was not the best in the Millionaire, but little by little it became a usable weapon for Marcelo Gallardo.
Jorge Carrascal was highly questioned on his arrival at River Plate. His performances did not seem to fit the price that had been paid in the contract, but little by little he raised his level and proved to be at the height of the Núñez club every time he had to play.
In an interview for Radio Caracol, the 22-year-old commented: “In River I want to stay at least two or three years. This club has given me many things, mainly happiness. When you find it, you feel good as a footballer.”
He added: “Despite the few matches I had, the truth is that there is a group of people who make you feel special. I want to continue demonstrating and dedicating myself to the team.”
Finally, Carrascal referred to the help he received from the River coach and closed: “He continues to help me grow, he understands me as an individual and a soccer player, he allowed me to evolve a lot”.
