Amazing! Hawai'i will have a team in the MLR

Everything indicates that, starting next year, the United States Major League Rugby will have a luxurious addition: the Kanaloa Hawai’i club would join the competition.

During the last hours, it was revealed that the body that regulates sport in the United States accepted the first offer they made from Hawai’i and, although they must continue with the negotiations, everything seems to be on track.

A few days ago, the Sports Director of the Hawaiian institution, Cam Kilgour, had stated that he wanted Kanaola to become the Chicago Bulls of the MLR: “We are going to be the Michael Jordan of rugby.”

This being the case, Hawaiians plan to start competing in February 2021. Their head coach will be Mick Byrne, who will have the company of Tamati Ellison and Matt Atiga on their coaching staff. It is estimated that 25% of the members of the campus will be Hawaiians.
