Verstappen sets the pace for Styrian GP practice

The Dutch driver set the fastest time in practice this Friday at the Red Bull Ring. Bottas came second, while Hamilton sixth.

After debuting in the 2020 season of the F1 with an abandonment in the Austrian Grand Prix, Max Verstappen obtained better sensations in the practices of this Friday of Styrian Grand Prix: He kept the best brand of the day.

The Dutch Red Bull rider stopped the clock in 1: 03.660 after 27 laps at the Red Bull Ring in Austria in the second training session of the day, improving by 43 thousandths the time of Valtteri Bottas (Mercedes), leader of the drivers’ championship after winning the first event of the season last week.

Third in the table was the Mexican Sergio Pérez, of Racing Point F1, after having surprised everyone earlier with the best time in Practice 1.

The disappointments of the day, which also featured Daniel Ricciardo’s inconsequential accident, came from the great stars of F1: Lewis Hamilton and Sebastian Vettel. The first signed the sixth best time, while the German came much further back, in 16th place.
