The reigning champion of the Libertadores will reach the rematch match next Wednesday with a 2-1 advantage over Fluminense in this decisive series of the Rio tournament.
Four days after seeing the faces in the definition of the Taça Río, the one who finally became champion of that contest, Fluminense, tackled the first 90 minutes of the decisive series of Carioca Championship against Flamengo.
Once again at the Maracanã Stadium, the powerful teams from Rio de Janeiro began to decide the title in this state tournament and the difference was marked by the current winner of the Libertadores and Brasilerao with their 2-1 victory.
Pedro was responsible for giving the advantage to the scoreboard to those led by Jorge Jesús in the 27th minute of the first half, but Evanilson hit 15 minutes into the match to equalize the duel.
Michael’s goal at 74 ‘was decisive, to give the victory to Fla and take the distance of one goal to the rematch game next Wednesday. Flamengo is looking for its 36th title in Carioca, while Flu will try to take their 32nd. Both are the maximum winners of this championship.
In what was the first crossing, the Uruguayan Georgian De Arrascaeta was the starter in the Rubro Negro while his compatriot Michel Araújo and the Peruvian Fernando Pacheco left from the bench of substitutes in the Flu.
