Pellegrini: "My goal at Betis will be to fight for a place in Europe"

The Chilean technical director was officially presented with the Verdiblanco club at Benito Villamarín and left his feelings about it.

Manuel Pellegrini will take care of Betis in the next season, however, while the current campaign is still ongoing, the Chilean coach has already been featured in the Benito Villamarín Stadium.

In his first official words, the coach assured: “This is a team that has to be fighting for European instances, it needs it as an institution and it will be my main objective: to take that leap in the sporting sense.”

When making an analysis of what will be his campus, he commented: “There is an important base in the campus that surely needs to be retouched in some positions. We have to start a new job from the preseason.”

He added: “We have to improve in every way, not only the defensive part, we have to lower the number of goals, also in terms of offense to convert more goals.”

Finally, Pellegrini referred to other clubs that wanted him and closed: “I had other offers, but I preferred Betis because I believe in the project that the club is doing. The intention of the board is for the club to continue growing and I wanted to contribute my experience in football to help them. “
