After signing Patrick Mahomes to a mega contract, the Kansas City franchise ensured the continuity of another one of its figures.
Kansas City Chiefs reached an agreement with the defensive tackle Chris Jones for a four-year contract extension worth $ 85 million, ESPN reported Tuesday.
Jones had been tagged the team’s franchise player earlier this offseason and, if an agreement had not been reached, he would have been paid $ 16 million in 2020.
According to the aforementioned medium, the contract includes 60 million guaranteed, including 37 million that must be paid at the time of signing. Performance and participation bonds represent $ 5 million in the deal.
The contract for defensive star Chris Jones comes just eight days after Super Bowl champions secured the signing of Patrick Mahomes for a record-breaking 10-year, $ 503 million contract.
