The San Francisco ninth announced that the Dominican will be the first pitcher at the start of the 2020 season.
Jhonny Cueto will be the opener of San Francisco Giants on June 23 at the Opening day of the 2020 season of the MLB, in an attractive meeting in front of Los Angeles Dodgers.
The ninth from San Francisco bets on the 34-year-old Dominican, for the start of a tight 60-game schedule that was delayed by the coronavirus pandemic, in addition to a wage conflict between players and the owners.
Cueto received praise in preseason training and is expected to arrive in tip-top shape on his pitches ahead of the duel against the Dodgers.
In his 12 major league seasons since 2998, he has averaged 3.35, with the only World Series ring in 2015 with the Kansas City Royals.
