Officially, the Irish British team announced that the tour scheduled for July and August 2021 in which they will visit South African lands will be carried out normally.
“We are delighted to announce that the South African tour will take place normally. It is our first trip there since 2009 and we will play against the world champions,” they stated from the official Lions account.
In turn, they confirmed dates and games that the team led by Warren Gatland will play:
On July 3 they will begin the series of encounters visiting Stormers in Cape Town. They will then travel to Port Elizabeth to face a team called South Africa Invitational on the 7th of the same month. The 10 will be measured in Durban against the Sharks of that city. The last two games before the great duels against the Sprinboks will be: the 14th against South Africa A in Nelspruit and the 17th against the Bulls in Pretoria.
The grand three-game series against South Africa’s senior team will begin on July 24 in Johannesburg at FNB National Stadium. The second match will be on the 31st of the same month at Cape Town Stadium in Cape Town. And finally, the grand trilogy will close on August 7 at the Emirates Park Stadium in Johannesburg.
