The 27-year-old Dominican, who is transitioning to first base this year, will be available for the first game of the season.
Miguel Sanó returned to summer camp from Minnesota Twins, after recovering from the coronavirus. The Dominican had tested positive a couple of weeks ago and can now finally join the team in preparation for his season opener against the Chicago White Sox on July 24.
Next week will be crucial for Sanó as the veteran third baseman is transitioning to first base to make way for Josh Donaldson, the team’s new player.
An All-Star in 2017, Sanó ended 2019 with records of 34 home runs and 79 RBIs in 105 games, to help the Twins win the American League Central.
