Chivas got the pass to the Cup final for Mexico by defeating América 4-3 in the semifinal that took place at the Estadio Olímpico Universitario
The tapatíos went ahead on the scoreboard just 20 seconds after playing a series of passes after the initial whistle that left José Juan Macías in front of the goalkeeper, defined a cross and thus made it 1-0.
The Chivas were not satisfied, at 33 they put together a great collective move in which Alexis Vega received the ball inside the area and defined with power, leaving Guillermo Ochoa with no chance to stop the shot.
América reacted quickly and just two minutes later they discounted the advantage with a crossed header from Federico Viñas, product of a cross, the scoreboard was 2-1 in favor of Guadalajara.
It was until the second half that the Azulcremas equalized the game at 69 ′ with a powerful shot by Sebastián Córdova from outside the area, which was embedded in the angle of the goal defended by José Antonio Rodríguez.
At minute 80 the rojiblancos sentenced the victory with a goal from Ángel Zaldívar after a rebound, as a result of a save by Guillermo Ochoa.
Just three minutes later, Isaac Brizuela made it 4-2 with a right hand from the edge of the area that ended at the bottom of the goal.
At 87 ′ Andrés Ibargüen cut the distance with a powerful shoe that went through the side of the defenders and embedded itself in the left side of the rival goal.
With this result, Chivas advances to the final of the Cup for Mexico, where they will meet Cruz Azul next Sunday, July 19 at 8:00 p.m.
