NBA individual awards will be valued until March 11

This change is due to the absence of all teams in the definition and voting would be terminated prior to the restart of the league.

The NBA announced the changes that will be for the awards that are delivered after the regular season. And it is that both the MVP and the coach, rookie, sixth man and defensive player of the year as the ideal quintets will be decided by the period until March 11, at which time the league was paralyzed.

“The decision to exclude qualifying matches from award voting guarantees a fair process in which players and coaches from all 30 teams will have the same opportunity to be honored as the best players of the regular season,” the organization told through a statement because only 22 of the 30 participating teams will be at Disney.

In addition, The Athletic assured that the voting will end before the restart of the competition that will take place on July 30. However, statistical championships, such as the best scoring average, rebounding, assists, among others, will continue until the end of the regular season.

From the way things went until the postponement of the league, everything seems to indicate that Giannis Antetokounmpo could return to repeat the MVP after leading the Milwaukee Bucks to the best record of the season so far with great numbers of 29.6 points and 13.7 rebounds.
