The Illinois franchise would put three players and one round of the draft on the table.
Chicago Bulls has in mind to make a leap in quality for the next season of the NBA and for this it intends to carry out a transfer that allows them to add to Rudy gobert. To carry this out, the franchise commanded by Jerry reinsdorf has in mind to offer Coby White, Thaddeus Young, Wendell Carter Jr. and a first round of the 2020 draft, as reported by the Bleacher Report.
The French center was considered a fundamental part of the project in Utah but the relationship with the team became tense after he was the one who infected a large part of the coronavirus team. So the Jazz, who also would not plan to use a maximum contract with him in 2021, would not see a way out.
The Bulls would hand over the last three years of franchise rebuilding in this handover, as White and Carter Jr. are the last two choices they made in the draft. The move appears to be risky, but it could be the start of a new “Big Three” with Zach Lavine, Lauri Markkanen and Gobert.
The planned transfer could be compared to the transfer that the Lakers made to get Anthony Davis, in which they did without young players to obtain a star player. And that Angelenos came out great, as they are strong candidates for the title. The future will tell if they will have the same luck in Chicago.
