Bob Melvin, the team’s coach, confirmed the Dominican’s appointment for Opening Day, which will be on July 24 against the Angels.
Oakland Athletics will have its opening match in the new season of the MLB on Friday, July 24, when I faced Los Angeles Angels, and the coach Bob Melvin confirmed to Frankie Montás as the team opener.
The 27-year-old Dominican returned to training with the Athletics in very good condition and excelled in preseason work, making his appointment appear to be the team’s best option.
Montas set out to score 90 pitches on Opening Day. After him, Sean Manaea, Mike Fiers, Chris Bassitt and AJ Puk will complete the rotation, in that order.
The native had shown a great level in the first part of last season, but the MLB sanctioned him in the second half of the year, because he tested positive for a doping test, with a substance to improve performance.
