The former assistant to Luis Enrique and then a full-time coach of the Spanish team had arrived at the Principality club last December and led his team to ninth place in Ligue 1 in the 2019-20 season, which ended prematurely for the coronavirus pandemic.
The club said in a statement: “AS Monaco announces that the club has launched a procedure that led to the departure of Robert Moreno. The Spanish coach was informed of this at a preliminary meeting on Saturday.”
