Seville has no intention of selling Diego Carlos

Two English clubs called the offices of the Spanish club asking about what for many has been the best central defender of the season in Spain.

In June 2019, Ramón Rodríguez Verdejo, known as Monchi, made the decision to sign Diego Carlos, a Brazilian central defender who was active in Nantes. True to his legendary clinical eye for detecting talent, the manager tied the central for 15 million euros. Thirteen months later, half of Europe asks about who has been the best central defender of the season. Two English clubs insist on signing the Brazilian, who is happy in Seville and it has become a cornerstone of the Seville project.

Her valuation has skyrocketed and her termination clause, amounting to € 75 million, may not be enough to deter her suitors. In the club they know the interest of several teams, but they know that now it is not time to talk about the market. This is how President José Castro staged it.

“I do not know what is going to happen in the market. It seems that it will be rare, atypical, I do not want to talk about purchases and sales. Now there is no need to talk about transfers,” said the leader on Marca radio.

Seville is stable. He has achieved his goal of qualifying for the next Champions League and in economic matters, despite the losses caused by the COVID-19, he has no need to sell his best assets. Hence, in the offices of Eduardo Dato, no offers are being heard by anyone and any interest in Diego Carlos has been blocked.
