The German winger said he still maintains a good relationship with the Catalan coach and said he left Manchester City to add more minutes on the court.
Leroy Sané insists that he maintains a good relationship with Pep Guardiola despite having left Manchester City to play in Bayern Munich earlier this month.
The German winger moved to the Bundesliga in a € 49m transfer after a campaign in which he hardly played due to a ligament injury to his knee.
“Our relationship is good. There was never a point when one was tired of the other. I am grateful for everything he taught me. Pep Guardiola helped me reach a very high level,” Sané told Sport Bild.
“He is very meticulous and wants to improve the players every day. He is persistent when it comes to his tactics, but that is positive, he helped me. We even lived in the same building [en Mánchester]so we saw each other often, “he added.
The German admitted that he left City to gain more prominence at Bayern. Although he also accepted that he will have enough competition in the Bavarian team.
“Of course I want to play, but I don’t demand a regular place in every game. No player in the world can play every game and reach their highest level. I have my goals, but I’m not against rotation. This helps the team. to get a good freshness, “he explained.
