Yoshiro Mori, chairman of the Tokyo 2021 executive committee, assured that the maximum sporting event is still in danger.
At a sports level, the pandemic has already wreaked havoc that will not change, such as the case of postponing Olympic Games of Tokyo to 2021 . However, according to Yoshiro Mori , the maximum sporting event is still in danger of being disputed.
In dialogue with NHK, the chairman of the competition’s executive committee said: “If the current situation continues, we would not be able to carry out the Games, although I cannot imagine a situation like this going on for another year.”
He added: “Whether or not the Olympics can be done is about whether humanity can beat the coronavirus. Specifically, the first point will be that a vaccine or drug has been developed.”
Lastly, Tomori commented: “We should not make viewers go through difficult times. Sports events are about empathy across the country.”
