The NFLPA announced more cases of infected league players after the last round of testing.
The NFL Players Association announced Tuesday that 59 players from across the league have tested positive for coronavirus in the last round of testing.
The NFLPA did not say how many players were tested, making the percentage of infected players impossible to know.
In the previous union update, which had arrived last Thursday, the NFLPA announced that 72 players had tested positive as of July 10.
Tuesday’s results come after the NFL and NFLPA reached an agreement for players to be tested for coronavirus daily for at least the first two weeks of training camps.
After two weeks of daily testing, testing will become every other day if the positivity rate falls below five percent among players and Level I and Level II individuals. Daily testing will continue beyond the two-week mark if the positivity rate does not drop.
Positive players must submit two negative tests 72 hours apart before they are allowed to enter their team’s facilities.
