After abolishing the Redskins nickname, the NFL franchise decided that until 2021 it would be called “The Washington Football Team”.

After recently abolishing its old and controversial name, Redskins, the team from the American capital decided that he will not have one for the 2020 season of the Nfl and announced that it will be called The Washington Football Team until a final determination is made.

“For the purposes of updated brand consistency and clarity, we will be called” The Washington Football Team “until our new name is adopted,” the franchise said in a statement.

He added: “We encourage fans, the media and all other parties to use” Washington Football Team “immediately. The Redskins name and logo will be officially removed at the start of the 2020 season.”

The team added that they will unveil new uniforms in time for the season opener, which will be Sept. 13 against the Philadelphia Eagles. Washington will maintain its traditional color scheme, but will remove the Indian head logo from its helmets, as well as from any display on FedExField.

“Starting tomorrow and for the next 50 days, we will begin the process of removing all Redskins brands from equipment properties, whether it be FedExField, Redskins Park, other physical and digital spaces. We hope to complete this process entirely by team opening team, against the Philadelphia Eagles on September 13, “they say from the franchise.
