The Dutch technical director left the American institution after a full season and obtaining two titles.
Atlanta United he terminated his contract with Frank de Boer by mutual agreement. 50-year-old Dutch technical director had reached the franchise of the MLS in December 2018 after the departure of Gerardo Martino.
“On behalf of Atlanta United, I would like to thank Frank for his leadership and commitment to the squad. Under his leadership, the team had a strong 2019 season in both MLS and international competition. After discussing it with him, it came to a mutual agreement and the decision was made, “said club president Darren Eales.
He added: “By winning two trophies in his first season in charge, he will always be part of the club’s history, and with great appreciation and respect we wish him all the best in the future.”
The decision came after the weak performance in the MLS return tournament, in which Atlanta United was eliminated after suffering three defeats in Group E against New York Red Bulls, Cincinnati and Columbus.
