The Spanish Yamaha rider, who has just finished second in the Spanish GP that opened the MotoGP season, signed a time of 1: 37.063 and will now look to stretch his good moment at the weekend.
The first round of training registered the best marks in Spain, with the Italian Valentino Rossi (Yamaha) coming in second with 1: 37.205. While the podium was completed by KTM South African Brad Binder (1: 37.370).
The Frenchman Fabio Quartararo, who won the first race of the season, finished 14th with a record of 1: 37.892 above his Yamaha.
