Both footballers left the Berlin team’s youth academy and the current Fiorentina player admitted his desire to return.
Kevin-Prince Boateng hopes to return to Hertha BSC next to his younger half brother Jerome. The 33-year-old, currently under contract with FiorentinaHe said in an interview with the sports magazine Socrates: “When your club calls you, it is not easy to say no, especially at our age, near the end of the race.”
For the player who was born in the German capital Berlin, there is nothing better than “finishing my career at Hertha”. The former Ghana international admitted: “It was a mistake to leave Hertha. It is my home. I should have stayed to pay for what Hertha did for me.”
The two Boateng brothers left Hertha’s youth academy and made the leap to professional football there. Subsequently, Kevin-Prince played for 14 different clubs in Europe, most recently half a year on loan at Besiktas.
Boateng has in mind the stage of his dreams for the end of his career: “Go back to Hertha, play for a year, then bring my brother and play with him for a year or two. It would be a dream.”
