Emiliano Grillo closed in an outstanding third place in Minnesota

The Argentinean advanced 10 places during the last day in the 3M Open that was won by the American Michael Thompson.

He PGA Tour completed a new week of preparation en route to PGA Championship, an event that after so many months of paralysis due to the pandemic was scheduled as the first Major of the season (since August 6).

Blaine’s TPC Twin Cities field was the scene of the 3M Open and featured among the South Americans as Emiliano Grillo, who thanks to his climb of 10 places this Sunday finished in third place.

With a return of 65 strokes, achieved by six birdies and without errors, the Argentinean counted a total of 268 (-16) to culminate in three hits from the champion, the American
Michael Thompson, which thus jumped to the 99th position in the ranking.

Adam Long was the champion’s escort at 17 under par, while seven other golfers shared Grillo’s position, with Alex Noren and Tony Finau as the names that stood out.

For Thompson, born in Arizona 35 years ago, it was the second title of his PGA career after the one achieved in The Honda Classic in March 2013.

Next week the World Golf Championships-FedEx St. Jude Invitational will be held, as the last contest prior to landing at TPC Harding Park in San Francisco for the PGA Championship.
