After asking to be traded, the 28-year-old will sign a new contract with the San Francisco team.
The San Francisco 49ers they reached a new agreement with Raheem Mostert to stay on the team, as confirmed by his agent Brett Tessler, who revealed that this month his client had requested a transfer after “months of unproductive conversations” about adjusting his contract.
Tessler wrote on Twitter: “I just finalized a new deal for Raheem Mostert with the San Francisco 49ers. Happy that we work things out and we hope he has another great season there. Thank you organization for taking care of him.”
Mostert went through six different NFL teams before finding a home with the 49ers in 2016. He enjoyed an impressive second half of the 2019 season, when the San Francisco team reached Super Bowl LIV, in which they lost 31-20. against Kansas City Chiefs.
Mostert signed a three-year contract with the 49ers in 2019 and was due to earn $ 2.875 million in 2020. According to NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport, the rewritten deal includes achievable incentives and a signing bonus which means he can double that salary.
