After signing the most lucrative contract in sports history, the Chiefs quarterback bought a share of the Royals in the Major Leagues.
Patrick Mahomes invested an undisclosed amount of his fortune to join the group owning Kansas City Royals, the franchise of the MLB in the same city as the Chiefs of the Nfl.
Mahomes, the NFL’s Most Valuable Player in 2018, this month signed a record-breaking 10-year contract extension with current $ 503 million Super Bowl champions, the richest in sports history.
The Royals announced Tuesday that the Kansas City Chiefs superstar quarterback acquired a stake in the franchise.
The 24-year-old MVP in the Chiefs Super Bowl win over the San Francisco 49ers in February, was a talented baseball player before opting for an NFL career. Even his father, Pat Mahomes, was an MLB pitcher for 11 seasons between the Twins, Mets, and Red Sox.
“I am honored to be a co-owner of the Kansas City Royals. I love this city and the people of this great city. This opportunity allows me to deepen my roots in this community, which is something I am excited to do,” said Mahomes.
