Kyrgios won't play Masters 1000 in Cincinnati

Nick Kyrgios will ultimately not play the Masters 1000 in Cincinnati (Aug. 22-28) relocated to New York this year due to the coronavirus pandemic.

A decision that is not a surprise to the extent that the Australian had been very critical in recent weeks about the decisions made by the Tennis Federation that conducts such tournaments.

It remains to be seen whether this heralds a future downside ahead of the United States Open (beginning August 31) like that of compatriot Ashleigh Barty.

Kyrgios will be replaced in the Cincy main draw by Britain’s Kyle Edmund.
