The Pennsylvania franchise asserted its short span of lucidity and caught up with it to outstrip its rival.
Philadelphia Union surpassed Sporting Kansas City 3-1 and agreed to the semifinal of the championship of the MLS. With great effectiveness facing the goal, thanks to a double Sergio Santos and the both of Jamiro MonteiroThe Pennsylvania franchise was only two steps from the title.
In an even first half, Philadelphia was effective and in a flash took the lead. The first goal came in the 24th minute after a good collective play ended by Jamiro Monteiro pushing the ball with the free goal. Moments later, the Brazilian Sergio Santos took advantage of a bad execution of the rival in a corner for a great run that ended with a pique on the goalkeeper.
With six minutes to go until the end of the first half, Santos would complete his double after Aaronson’s cross-over to the void. Already in the minute of addition before going to the locker room, Alan Pulido discounted head after a center front at the far post.
