The Italian Scientific Committee rejected the protocol presented by the tournament for the dispute of the Masters 1000 in Rome, from September 20 to 27, with the public.
According to the newspaper The Repubblica, the protocols that the Federation has provided “are insufficient” in order to prevent the risks of contagion. The reasons given, for example, are based on the fact that the safety distance between seats, which would be 43 cm, is not sufficient.
In addition, it seems that the experience of the Adria Tour would also have weighed on the Committee’s decision, which now passes the ball to the Italian Tennis Federation.
It should be noted that the tickets for the tournament were already on sale, which, if there is no change of opinion, must be refunded.
