The Spanish Federation proposes a Second Division of 24 participants

After the incident on the last day between Fuenlabrada and Deportivo la Coruña, from the federative entity they believe that expanding the competition would be the solution.

The Real spanish soccer federation he proposed so much to The league like CSD that LaLiga SmartBank from next season go from 22 to 24 teams. The document, signed by the secretary general of the federative entity, Andreu Camps, seeks to expand the competition.

Of course, it will be exceptional. In this way, 2020/21 would be the only season in which 24 teams would compete in the silver category of Spanish football. This measure comes after the Competition Committee’s rejection of the injunction requested by the instructor of the Fuenlabrada Case, in which it was requested that the meeting with Deportivo de la Coruña be lost by Madrid residents.

The letter, which was addressed to the presidents of the CSD, LaLiga, Fuenlabrada, Numancia and Deportivo, could suppose that these last two teams, relegated to Segunda B, could stay in LaLiga SmartBank and cancel their declines.

And this possibility did not sit well with the two teams that finished last: Extremadura and Racing de Santander. The two who remained in the final positions of the Smartbank League demonstrated their rejection of this request on social networks.
