Alexander Zverev, No. 7 in the world, has taken a stance on holding the US Open (August 31 to September 13), given the health situation the United States is experiencing due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

“It is a bit crazy to play the US Open now. I would prefer that it not take place and that we start the year in Europe,” said the German after an exhibition tournament in France.

“It is not the right time to fly to America now. If the US Open is held, what should the players do? Especially if everyone is going to play, it is also ranking points,” he said.
