In the 2015-2016 season, the Argentine striker had scored 36 touchdowns in the Italian league, something the attacker of the Rome Eagles achieved.
On the last day of the Italian league, Lazio fell to Napoli in San Paolo 3-1. However, Ciro Immobile said he was present on the scoreboard for the capital team and equaled Gonzalo Higuaín’s record of 36 goals in the same season.
In the 2015-2016 season, when he played for Napoli, the former Argentine forward Real Madrid scored 36 goals in 35 duels for the A series, which was an absolute record, with which he even surpassed some of the country’s legends.
However, the Italian attacker of the Rome Eagles reached that mark of the South American with his goal in the match against Napoli for the last date in the league. In the last days, Immobile scored against Juventus, against Cagliari, managed a hat-trick against Hellas Verona and a bit more against Brescia.
This also distanced him even more in the fight for the Golden Boot, which he achieved with his 72 points (two units are delivered per goal). Thus, he surpassed Robert Lewandowski, who finished with 34 touchdowns.
