The 2019-20 season of the A series ended this Sunday and the president of the Italian Football Federation (FIGC), Gabriele Gravina, thanked all the protagonists for their contribution to complete a campaign that was interrupted by the coronavirus pandemic.
“As Serie A ends the season, I want to thank all the athletes, coaches, managers and staff for their efforts. A special thanks to the referees who, despite the difficulties of the moment, have allowed the usual support and indispensable, “said the leader in an official statement.
And he added: “All the protagonists of the reboot showed great responsibility and availability by repeatedly undergoing very strict controls and often invasive tests.”
“Italian football as a whole has been able to offer, even in a situation as complex as that of the Covid emergency, an extraordinary proof of professionalism and competence, which confirms the strength and credibility of our system,” said Gravina.
And he concluded: “In the hope that our clubs participating in the European Cups can achieve the results they expect, we have already been working for some time on the resumption of the 2020/21 season.”
