The governing body of South American football announced that it will finance part of the transfers for the visiting teams.
CONMEBOL announced on Monday that it will subsidize part of the charter flights for the participating teams of the Libertadores Cup and the South American Cup. The institution explained that it will be exceptional for current editions due to the economic inconveniences generated by the pandemic.
This subsidy will apply only to the teams that play their match as a visitor. The governing body of South American football clarified that “under no circumstances will the locals be able to receive it,” taking into account that some clubs could play outside their stadium due to government measures.
The amounts to cover the expenses of the clubs were gradually built up. In case the transfer must be within the same city, there will be no help. If the trip is within the same country, the aid will be about 15 thousand dollars. This will be doubled if there are more than 2000 kilometers away and the match is in another country. The subsidy will be $ 50,000 if the distance is between 2,000 and 4,000 kilometers in another country and $ 70,000 if it exceeds 4,000 km.
