The meeting pending the last date is set to take place this Wednesday. It could define access to the Madrid team’s playoff and descent from Dépor.
He Competition Committee decided, after four hours of meeting and all kinds of pressure, that the match between Sports of La Coruña and Fuenlabrada next Wednesday August 5. According to the Marca newspaper, it was not a unanimous vote.
It is the first resolution adopted by the committee chaired by Carmen Pérez in two years that has not been adopted unanimously, breaking a common tune in committees of this type.
The Competition decision comes just after Dépor planted LaLiga this morning and did not show up at the Abegondo facilities to undergo the PCR tests, as recommended by the body chaired by Javier Tebas.
This meeting is important since Fuenlabrada is risking its chance to enter the playoff for the third promotion to the First Division, while La Coruña fights -nothing less- to maintain its Second status. It is worth clarifying that Dépor requires that the last day of the Second be repeated in its entirety.
