Marc Márquez could miss the next three events of the season

According to reports, Repsol Honda will not be able to recover the injured Spanish rider on the MotoGP grid until mid-September.

Marc Márquez posted a thank you message to fans amid reports that he will miss the next three appointments of the season of MotoGP after undergoing a second operation on his right arm.

The world champion in the category fractured his humerus a few weeks ago after being hit by his own bike at the Spanish Grand Prix.

Márquez tried to return to competition just a week later for the Andalusian Grand Prix, but withdrew from the classification when he felt pain in his elbow.

This week, his Repsol Honda team confirmed that Marquez had undergone a second procedure because an installed titanium plate had been damaged as a result of stress build-up.

Although Honda announced that Márquez will miss the Czech Republic Grand Prix in Brno this weekend, a report in the Barcelona newspaper El Periódico says that the Spaniard will not participate in the Red Bull Ring double in Austria either.

Such a scenario would mean that Marquez will not return to the track until the MotoGP season moves to Misano in mid-September.

Márquez himself turned to Twitter this Wednesday to thank fans for the support received. “Falling is allowed, getting up is a must. Thank you all for the messages of support!” He wrote.

In Márquez’s absence, Fabio Quartararo won the first two races at Jerez to lead the standings.
