With the return of Captain Dane Coles, he needs to beat the Chiefs with a bonus point to maintain the illusion of the championship.
Hurricanes coach Jason Holland announced the fifteen that will receive the Chiefs in Wellington next Saturday (4.30 Argentine time on ESPN Play) on the ninth date of the Super Rugby Aotearoa. The yellows will have the return of Dane Coles who recovered from a blow to the back and will do so on the front line alongside Tyrel Lomax, who also recovered from an injury.
Between the backs Vince Aso begins as second center since Ngani Laumape will not play the remainder of the tournament due to an arm injury. Kobus Van Wyk will be the wing after Ben Lam’s departure for France, while Peter Umaga-Jensen gets his fourth appearance this year in midfield after his excellent performance against the Crusaders two weeks ago.
The player everyone wants to see and still can’t make his season debut is former All Black Julian Savea who is once again absent from the team. The renowned wing joined Hurricanes in March and his last game was in the 2018 semifinal against Crusaders. He then emigrated to France to play in Toulon for 2 seasons.
Hurricanes need to score a bonus point win against the Chiefs to stay on the quest for the Super Rugby Aotearoa title.
