The second leg matches of the second round, which had been postponed due to the pandemic, were resolved. Now the final phase will be played entirely in Lisbon.
An unprecedented, historic format starts in the Champions League. The quarterfinals of the 2019/20 edition will be resolved with crosses to a single match and all based in Lisbon, Portugal, after completing the pending round of 16 matches that had been affected by the pandemic.
In a health measure by UEFA, to avoid coronavirus infections, all qualified teams will be sheltered in a “bubble” in search of reaching the final on Sunday, August 23 at the Da Luz stadium.
At the start of the quarterfinals, on Wednesday the 12th Atalanta and PSG will face off on the same stage as the grand final, while a day later, at the José Alvalade, it will be RB Leipzig-Atlético de Madrid’s turn. The winners of both matches will then be measured in the semifinals, on Tuesday 18.
On the other hand, Barcelona-Bayern Munich will animate the crossing on Friday 14 at Da Luz, home of Benfica, and the event closes on Saturday 15 with Manchester City-Lyon at the Sporting CP stadium. Those who advance will play on Wednesday 19 for a place in the high definition.
