The former Red Devils defender believes the Spanish midfielder could be a great signing for Jurgen Klopp’s team.
After the great performance of Thiago Alcantara in the victory of Bayern Munich before Chelsea, Ferdinand River was in charge of praising the Spanish footballer and remarked that he would be a great reinforcement for Liverpool.
The former Barcelona has been linked to the Premier League champion to be a possible reinforcement of the passing market.
“He’s a driver, someone who controls the pace of the game, he has a rear-view mirror so he can see behind him, he can see all angles, make all kinds of passes,” the former Manchester United footballer said on BT Sport.
He continued: “He is a smart player, he speaks the language, which is also an important part. It would be a dream to have someone like him in Liverpool. He is the kind of player they probably don’t have.”
The 29-year-old midfielder has already expressed his desire to leave the Bavarian team last month. After getting approval from the board, rumors began that put him close to Anfield next season.
