Julian Nagelsmann and Dani Olmo ensure that the German team is focused on Thursday’s duel for the Champions League quarterfinals.
Julian Nagelsmann, coach of Leipzig, is confident that his team will not lose focus heading into the quarterfinals of the Champions League, after what Athletic of Madrid confirmed two positive cases of coronavirus on campus: Angel Correa and Sime Vrsaljko.
Neither of them will play in Lisbon on Thursday, but the German team coach does not change his plans. “It does not affect our preparation for the game in any way. We will not let this news reach us. We entered the week normally and, as always, we focused our work on Thursday,” the former Hoffenheim manager told reporters.
He added: “In such cases, UEFA has clear protocols on what to do. The federations have been informed and the minutes are passing. There is a clear regulation and, if both cases are maintained, I assume there will be no consequences for the match of the Thursday”.
At the wheel, Dani Olmo was also asked about the problem and said: “We continue as normal. Now we are in Lisbon and we are preparing as before. We know that Atlético is a very strong team. This is shown every year in the league and in the Champions “.
“But we will focus on our game. We know we have a good chance to pass. Of course, we expect a strong opponent. It will be difficult, but we will do our best,” closed Olmo.
