Manchester United does not want surprises in their quest for the semifinals

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s team starts as favorites against Copenhagen and aspires to successfully take the first of three steps towards the coronation.

Manchester United will try to comply with logic in his clash this Monday against Copenhagen, at the Rhein Energie Stadium in Cologne (Germany), for the quarterfinals of the UEFA Europa League 2019/20.

Those coached by Ole Gunnar Solskjaer completed a more than positive English Premier, having closed in third place behind the implacable champions Liverpool and Guardiola’s City.

Since their return to soccer after the pandemic break, the Red Devils posted 8 wins, 3 draws and 1 loss in all competitions, which represented a notable improvement in relation to their performance between August 2019 and March.

Bruno Fernandes settled perfectly into the game scheme to complement Paul Pogba in midfield, while the attacking partnership of Anthony Martial and Marcus Rashford promise to transfer all their dangerousness to the Danish cast. They are joined by the promising Mason Greenwood, who has scored five goals in the last two months.

United has just left Austria’s LASK on the road in a comfortable tie and will now face the runners-up of the last Danish Super League, which was left in the hands of Midtjylland.

Stale Solbakken’s men left Istanbul Basaksehir (3-0 in the rematch after falling with the minimum in the first leg) and are supported by Jonas Wind (2 goals and 1 assist), Rasmus Jensen (1 goal and 2 passes from goal) and the Uruguayan Michael Santos (2 goals), the highlights in this cup-bearer tour. Guillermo Varela is another representative of Uruguay in Copenhagen.

Probable lineups:

Manchester United: De Gea; Wan-Bissaka, Lindelof, Maguire, Williams; Pogba, Matic; Greenwood, Fernandes, Rashford; Martial.

Copenhagen: Johnsson; Varela, Nelsson, Bjelland, Boilesen; Mudrazija, Zeca; Biel, Wind, Jensen; Kaufmann.
