The technical director of the Italian National Team referred to the situation of the former midfielder, who took the reins of Vecchia Signora after Sarri’s dismissal.
The elimination of Juventus in the knockout stages of the Champions League he hit not only in sports, but also technically. La Vecchia Signora got rid of Sarri and hired Andrea Pirlo, something that caught the attention of Roberto Mancini.
In dialogue with La Gazzetta dello Sport, the coach commented: “Pirlo is lucky. He starts from the top and with the best team. Maybe I didn’t start from the bottom, but I started at Fiorentina, not with Juve.”
He added: “Joking aside, if I was looking, I would have been looking at Andrea. He has a great knowledge of football. Like Daniele De Rossi. I would have liked to work with him.
To close, Mancini wished Pirlo luck and closed: “There is always a first time. Andrea opens a new path. Let’s follow him. Good luck to him.”
