In a note with the French media Midi Olympique, the Argentine coach, the new Head Coach of the Stade Francais in Paris, spoke about the additions to the squad and his talk with the leaders.
He assured that as soon as he arrived at the club, the leadership told him that players in specific positions would be added and that the squad from the previous year would remain.
“Thomas Lombard quickly explained to me that I will have more or less the same team as last year, with two or three more players .. In the forwards, we needed at least one player per line, we got them. In particular, we needed players with a strong character and capable of making contact. Grobbler and Kremer have this quality, Kakovin will strengthen our front line and Veainu at the bottom of the backs. “
On the other hand, he referred to the technical staff that accompanies him and that does not change for the future: “Obviously, when arriving at a club, a coach likes to arrive with his men. But I knew almost all the staff and I trust them, especially Laurent Sempéré and Julien Arias because I have known them before. I discovered the coaches and am delighted to collaborate with them. These personnel have been able to lay the foundations on which we will be able to build from now on. “
Stade Francais added five players: Tongan wing Telusa Veainu, Argentine third row Marcos Kremer and Charlie Rorke from Australian Rugby League, second row Gerbrandt Grobler and prop Vasil Kakovin.
