New date for the Masters 1000 in Rome

The Masters 1000 in Rome, which was to be played at the end of April and was suspended due to the Covid-19 pandemic, will be played from September 14 to 21.

Between those dates, the main draw will be completed at the Foro Italico, which brought the appointment forward a week with respect to what was planned for the cancellation of the Masters 1000 in Madrid. The men’s “qualy” will begin to be played on September 11 and 64 tennis players will participate in it if it is decided to extend the quota. Otherwise it will start a day later.

As announced by the Italian agency Ansa, Sergio Palmieri, director of the tournament, anticipated that the semifinalists of the US Open, which will be played from August 31 to September 13, will debut later to be able to rest.
