With the historic 8-2 result in Lisbon, Bayern Munich reopened a wound that no fan of any club wishes to recreate.
In the last decade and a little more, Barcelona got used to being the team that both Spain like in Europe thrashed his rivals. However, this time Bayern Munich gave him his own medicine and defeated the Culés 8-2 in the Champions League.
In addition to the humiliation not only for being left out of the competition in the quarterfinals, but also for the manner and the score, this result enters the negative history of the Blaugrana club as one of the worst defeats it suffered in its history.
The worst win against the Catalans, and possibly very difficult to match, was in the 1930-31 season by Athletic Bilbao, who beat them 12-1.
Coming out of surprising numbers, and halving, in the 1995-96 campaign Real Madrid defeated Barcelona 5-1. In addition, the victories of PSG and Liverpoola, both 4-0 in the Champions League, are part of that statistic that the Culés will never want to recreate.
