The Dominican from Minnesota hit a home run in each of the two games played on the day against Kansas City, which ended with a win distribution.
Nelson Cruz shone at bat again by hitting a two-run home run for the Minnesota Twins in a 4-2 win over the Kansas City Royals in the first game of the MLB doubleheader at Target Field. And later, in the second game, he connected another but in what was the visitor’s victory also 4-2.
In the third act of the opening game, the Dominican hit a long home run that reached the third floor of the stands and consolidated the difference on the board. For his part, his compatriot Maikel Franco tried to bring the Royals closer with a two-run homer in the fifth inning.
The right fielder returned to say present at bat in the fourth inning of the second game, to get his sixth home run of the season and 407 in his entire career. However, it only served to discount and consolidate the final score against the Royals.
Whit Merrifield stole all eyes in Kansas City’s win by totaling three hits and a three-run homer.
