The Manchester United manager regretted the chances wasted by his coaches in the defeat to Sevilla in the Europa League semi-finals.
Manchester United was removed from the Europa League after falling 2-1 to Seville and his coach, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, regretted the opportunities wasted by his team during the game that was played in Germany.
“It’s one of those games where, if you take advantage of your opportunities, you win comfortably. But that’s not always the case in football. We had moments and situations in both halves where we should, we could have scored quite a few goals,” declared the Norwegian coach. in dialogue with BT Sport.
And he added: “But when you don’t convert, it becomes difficult. We have a young team, we had an average of three years younger than them, and I think that at times we show that this group of players will have to learn and achieve consistency in their game.” .
United were eliminated this season in the semi-finals of the FA Cup, the EFL Cup and the Europa League. It is the first English team of the highest category to suffer that fate. Solskjaer said his team “shone at times” and applauded the performance of Sevilla goalkeeper Yassine Bounou.
“The goalkeeper had a fantastic game. Of course it is disappointing that we did not score because we know we have players who have that quality, but again, that is the game,” he concluded.
