Marseille was due to meet Saint Etienne on Friday for the start of the 2020/21 campaign, but four people from the club were diagnosed with coronavirus.
The League 1 has a new problem. When the new season was expected to go off without a hitch, Marseilles confirmed this Tuesday that he has four positive cases for COVID-19 so the opening match against Saint Etienne scheduled for this Friday.
As it is, the ball will roll again in France in the duel between Bordeaux and Nantes on Saturday. “In view of the medical results communicated by Marseille, the Competitions Commission has decided to postpone the meeting,” the statement said.
For now, Marseille will go into total quarantine waiting for the evolution of the infected people and to make a siege and prevent more positive cases.
