Marca reports that the Argentine will meet this Thursday with the new Barcelona coach to talk about the future of the culé team.
Ronald Koeman does not waste time after being confirmed as the new coach of Barcelona. The Dutchman already got to work thinking about the future of the Blaugrana team and this Thursday he will meet with Lionel messi, who will interrupt his vacation to see the technician, according to Marca.
Barça are in a crisis after the humiliating 8-2 defeat to Bayern Munich in the Champions League quarter-finals, which precipitated the departure of Quique Setién from the substitute bench. Koeman does not want the Argentine star to leave the ranks of the club in this situation and that is why he wants to see him as soon as possible.
The new coach of Barcelona has a huge restructuring of the squad ahead of him and Messi is one of the few irreplaceable. The idea of the coach and the board is that the captain remains at the club, although Koeman said in his presentation that he wants everyone to commit to the cause.
A good part of Barcelona’s planning for next season depends on what happens at Thursday’s meeting, although Koeman also plans to join the other team captains: Gerard Piqué, Sergio Busquets and Sergi Roberto.
