Russo: "I don't dare say that the Libertadores will start on the 15th and the tournament will start on the 25th"

Nicolás Russo questioned the resumption of the Copa Libertadores set for mid-September and the start of the local tournament in Argentina for the end of the month since he considers that “the health situation is not controlled either in the country or in South America.”

“I would not dare to say that on September 15 the Libertadores will start and that on the 25th, as is the idea of the leadership, the First Division championship will do so. Hopefully it happens ”, acknowledged the president of Lanús.

In radio statements with “Un Buen Domingo” (La Red), the top garnet leader explained: “One is seeing what is happening with some schools and none is exempt.”

And he added, in relation to the positives that can occur even in the middle of the “health bubble”: “When you have the players tested and concentrated, nothing should happen but look at what happened with River and other clubs, something that can happen to anyone”.

“The important thing is that practices have already started, although soccer has not yet been played. Here you have to be prepared for that date and with 72 hours to see how things are, ”concluded Russo.
