Racing Club is celebrating. The Presidente Perón Stadium, popularly known as “El Cilindro de Avellaneda”, turns 70 years old.
For this reason, from the club, they shared an emotional video where the voice of the stadium tells unforgettable moments for the fans of La Academia.
Even, in another post, they published images of the stadium taken by their goalkeeper, Gabriel Arias, a fan of photography.
Construction began in 1946 and four years later, on September 3, 1950, the Presidente Perón Stadium was inaugurated, later affectionately called by its fans “El Cilindro” or “El Coliseo”.
Over the years it was modernized, adding roofed stalls and a new lighting system.
El Cilindro witnessed important moments for the club, and for this reason, from its virtual platform, the Academy will continue to commemorate moments during the day with a live show with the president Víctor Blanco, the club manager Diego Milito and the footballers Lisandro López and Florencia Romero.
